A2B694 CAR T cells kill mesothelin-positive tumor cells that have lost HLA-A*02 via T-cell cytotoxicity (perforin/granzyme). The B2M mRNA is targeted by shRNA within the engineered T cells to modulate their HLA class I, not to kill cells expressing B2M.
